From Fragments to Focus: My Road to Africa

Posted Aug 2025 • by CRDEA

In 2019, my world was painted with fragments of Africa, sketched by the wisdom of my father—lessons of resilience from Thomas Sankara, the vision of Julius Nyerere, and Garvey's empowering teachings. My understanding was sculpted by the rhythms of Jamaican Music, contrasting the pervasive negativity propagated by Western media.

Then, amid the upheaval of the pandemic, a beacon of inspiration emerged in the form of Wodemaya—a YouTuber whose passion for the continent ignited a profound shift in my perspective. His authentic love for Africa became a guiding light, altering the course of my focus and aspirations. Today, on the cusp of relocating to Africa, I find myself amidst the final stages of this transformative journey.

This path, however, is not without its challenges. It demands unwavering strength and determination; it tests the limits of resilience. Yet, through the hurdles and hardships, I am driven by a fervent desire that no one else should encounter the struggles I've faced.

It is with this burning conviction that I established the Coalition for the Repatriation of the Descendants of Enslaved Africans (CRDEA). Our mission bears two crucial aims: first, to secure the Right of Abode within the countries of Sub-Saharan Africa, and second, to stand in service to our newfound African communities.

Presently, our efforts resonate through a petition accessible at CRDEA.com/repatriation. We ask you to sign and share this petition and to amplify its message. Let your words craft bridges that guide others toward this cause.

This journey is more than a personal odyssey—it's a shared voyage toward empowerment, unity, and the realization of a long-awaited destiny. Each signature, each share, each post is a brushstroke on the canvas of change, painting a future where the descendants of enslaved Africans find their way back to their ancestral home.
